About the Authors
Frankie Bratton-Jeffery serves on the headquarters staff of the U.S. Naval Education and Training Command. Her academic credentials include a BA and MA in Secondary Education from the University of Kentucky and a Ph. D. in Instructional Design and Development from the University of South Alabama. Dr. Bratton-Jeffery is an Instructional Systems Specialist for the Navy. Dr. Bratton-Jeffery's area of expertise lies in the practical application of cognitive learning theories, adult learning and motivation, performance improvement, and large-scale systems design. Dr. Bratton-Jeffery is an experienced educator and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses for the University of South Alabama as adjunct faculty.
Suzanne Hoffman is an independent consultant. She has a BA in Spanish from the University of Florida, an MA in German from the University of Illinois, and a Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Development from the University of South Alabama. She has worked in higher education as an administrator, a program developer/coordinator, and adjunct faculty and in industry as an instructional designer with emphasis on training needs analysis. Dr. Hoffman's areas of specialization include second language acquisition, English as a Second Language, and non-traditional adult learners.
Arthur B. Jeffery is Assistant Professor in the Mitchell College of Business, University of South Alabama. He holds a MS in Systems Management from University of Southern California, an MBA from Kansas University, and a Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Development from the University of South Alabama. Dr. Jeffery has taught at the university level in the area of quantitative methods, quality improvement, and management for 15 years. He also has 20 years of experience as an Army Officer, including several command assignments and work as an operations research systems analyst. He is a partner for RDIS, LLC, a small consulting firm providing services in instruction systems and human performance.
